Our collaborative project is
a Problem Solving Guide for Effective
Leaders. The purpose of the project is to provide new administrators with
information that they might need during their first couple of years. The
information is focused on effectively managing the problem solving process. As
stated in A Principal’s Guide to Special Education on page 107,
“Effective instructional leaders build a cohesive school community that is
based on respect and collaboration (Bateman & Bateman 107).” One way that
collaboration occurs between general education and special education teachers
is during this problem solving process. One of the keys to success and
effectiveness of the problem solving meeting is the organizational aspects that
keep the meeting running smoothly. This includes team norms, roles, and an
agenda.
